How does arbitration directly benefit our users?
If any disagreement arises between the Customer and the Translator about work which carries the expedited arbitration clause supplied by ourselves, Translationtown shall refer them to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Arbitration and Mediation Center , which will give them a 90% reduction on WIPO's normal administration and management fees, in recognition of the endeavours of Translationtown and its cooperation with this organization.
This means you can establish commercial relations with unknown companies and individuals safe in the knowledge that you are supported by an independent, neutral organization which will quickly resolve any potential problem.
Arbitration in context
Arbitration is one of the traditional methods of Alternative Dispute Resolution; a way of solving disagreements based on communication and negotiation, in order to avoid court proceedings.
Whilst other methods such as mediation are not binding, a decision issued by an arbitrator - called the award - must be complied with by the parties as if it were a court judgement. Hence its recognition in International Law and in various treaties within international commerce, such as the 1958 New York Convention, which applies to all signatory countries.
